Xbox Game Pass Essential Card (formerly Xbox Live Gold)

Pick a length (1, 3 or 12 months) and click Buy Now. You will go to that card on Kinguin, where you pay and receive the code, usually within minutes. GiftCardEver does not sell this card itself. We link to Kinguin and may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you.

The Game Pass Essential cards linked on this page are US cards. They only work on Microsoft accounts set to the United States. A US card will not redeem on an account from another country. Before you pay, check the region shown on the Kinguin product page.

If you want to play paid online multiplayer games on an Xbox console, you need Game Pass Essential or a higher Game Pass tier. It is the replacement for Xbox Live Gold. It suits players who mainly want online play and a smaller game library, without paying for Game Pass Premium or Ultimate.

• Online multiplayer in console games.
• A library of 50+ games for Xbox console and PC.
• Limited cloud gaming time each month.
• In-game perks in some free-to-play games, and Microsoft Rewards.

The old Games with Gold monthly free games ended with Xbox Live Gold. See xbox.com for the current plan details.

In a web browser:

1. Go to redeem.microsoft.com and sign in with your Microsoft account.
2. Enter the 25-character code.
3. Click Next and confirm.

On an Xbox console, open the Microsoft Store, choose Redeem, then enter the code. If you already have a different Game Pass plan, Microsoft may convert the time. Check the message shown before you confirm.
