Can I use a US Disney gift card outside the United States?

Disney gift cards purchased in US dollars are redeemable only at Disney locations in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico, per Disney Store Support. They are not accepted at Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disney Resort, Hong Kong Disneyland or Shanghai Disney Resort. Those parks use gift cards issued in their local currencies. If you plan to visit a Disney park outside North America, you will need a card for that region.

How do I redeem a Disney gift card?

Disney gift cards can be redeemed online or in person at participating Disney locations. To use one online at DisneyStore.com:

  1. Add items to your cart and go to checkout.
  2. Find the Gift Card Information box on the payment page.
  3. Enter your 16-digit card number and the 4 or 8-digit EAN (security code).
  4. If the order total exceeds the card balance, the rest is charged to your credit card.

To redeem for Disney+, visit disneyplus.com/gift, enter the card number and security code, then follow the prompts. At Disney parks and resorts, present your card or code to a Cast Member.

Is it safe to buy a Disney gift card through Kinguin?

Kinguin is a digital marketplace where independent sellers list gift card codes. It is not affiliated with Disney. Before purchasing, check the seller’s rating and review count on Kinguin. Kinguin offers a buyer protection program as an optional paid add-on at checkout. If a code does not work, keep your order confirmation and contact Kinguin support directly. Do not contact Disney for codes purchased through third-party sellers, as they cannot assist with those transactions. GiftCardEver earns a commission when you buy through our links at no extra cost to you.

What can I buy with a Disney gift card?

Disney gift cards cover most purchases at participating Disney locations. This includes theme park tickets, annual passes and Magic Key passes, resort hotel stays, dining, merchandise, spa treatments on Disney Cruise Line and shore excursions. You can also apply them toward a Disney-billed Disney+ subscription or select Disney+ bundles in the US. Disney gift cards cannot be redeemed for cash (unless required by law in your state), cannot be used to buy other Disney gift cards and are not accepted at Disney Store locations inside Target stores or on Target.com, per Disney Store Support.

Does a Disney gift card expire?

Disney gift cards do not expire and carry no fees. The balance remains on the card until you use it, with no inactivity charges or service fees. The maximum balance per card is $1,000, as stated in the Disney Gift Card terms.

How do I check my Disney gift card balance?

Disney gift card balances can be checked at disneygiftcard.com/checkbalance by entering your 16-digit card number and the 4 or 8-digit EAN. You can also call 1-877-650-4327. For transaction history, sign in at DisneyGiftCard.com, go to My Cards, select your card and choose Transaction History, as described on Disney Store Support.

Can I use a Disney gift card for a Disney+ subscription?

Disney gift cards can be applied toward a Disney-billed Disney+ subscription or select Disney+ bundles in the US. To redeem, visit disneyplus.com/gift, enter your card number and security code, review the value and select Redeem. The full card balance is applied to your subscription account. If you do not have an existing Disney+ subscription, you will be prompted to create one during the redemption process. This option is available only in the US.

Why do scammers ask for Disney gift cards?

Real companies, government agencies and tech support never ask for payment by gift card. If someone pressures you to buy a Disney gift card and share the code over the phone or online, it is a scam. Never give your card number or PIN to anyone who contacts you requesting it. Report suspected scams and learn more at the FTC’s fraud reporting page.

If you are planning a Walt Disney World or Disneyland trip, a $100 or $200 card can help spread the cost of tickets and dining over time. For a Disney+ subscription, a smaller amount like $25 works well as a gift. Make sure the recipient’s account is based in the US, Canada or Puerto Rico before gifting.
